DeMario Lindsey, MS

DeMario began his career in clinical rehabilitation and spent more than a decade within Emory Saint Joseph’s Hospital’s Heart & Vascular Institute, an institution with a longstanding reputation for excellence in cardiovascular care.

As a Senior Clinical Exercise Physiologist in Cardiac Rehabilitation, he provided direct patient care while taking on increasing responsibility for clinical operations, staff development, and program performance. He also supervised internship and preceptorship programs for exercise physiologists, nurses, and medical trainees and supported the department’s national accreditation efforts.

During his tenure, DeMario received multiple institutional honors, including Support Person of the Year, the Mother McAuley Award, and an Angel Card recognition. He was also selected for and graduated from the Emory Emerging Leader Program.

DeMario later supervised the Cardiac & Pulmonary Rehabilitation program at Northeast Georgia Health System, with responsibility for operations, clinical protocols, staffing, compliance, resources, and reimbursement processes.

Together, these experiences shaped an approach that remains central to his work today: healthcare outcomes are influenced not only by clinical intervention, but also by the systems surrounding the patient, including providers, communication, access, resources, and coordination.

In his final corporate healthcare role, DeMario returned to Emory and led clinic operations for a high-volume orthopedic and spine center supporting a multidisciplinary practice of 14 physicians and surgeons.

Physicians within the practice served as team providers for major professional and collegiate sports organizations, including the Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta Hawks, Atlanta United, Atlanta Vibe, and Georgia Tech football, among others.

The experience gave DeMario firsthand exposure to the coordination required when complex medicine, specialty physicians, high-performing individuals, and sophisticated healthcare systems intersect.

DeMario has served as an Adjunct Faculty member at Emory University School of Medicine, teaching physician residents training in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R). His expertise has extended beyond working alongside physicians to helping educate the next generation of rehabilitation physicians.

He previously served as Adjunct Faculty in Clayton State University’s Health & Fitness Management Department, teaching undergraduate courses in exercise science, fitness, and health education and mentoring students preparing for careers in health and wellness.

DeMario has provided on-tour medical concierge support for professional musicians as well as private, in-home concierge care for executives and other high-profile individuals.

These experiences strengthened his understanding of high-touch care: providing discreet, responsive, individualized support within the realities of a person’s life rather than requiring that life conform to the healthcare system.

Today, DeMario brings these experiences together as founder of The Stamina Group, serving retired professional football players navigating complex neurological conditions including dementia, Parkinson’s disease, and ALS.

His rehabilitation background informs Stamina’s focus on function, mobility, independence, and quality of life. His healthcare leadership and physician education experience support the navigation of complex medical systems and communication across providers, while his experience in elite sports medicine and private concierge care informs Stamina’s individualized approach to serving professional athletes and their families.

The result is care that extends beyond the traditional rehabilitation session. The Stamina Group helps players and families navigate physicians, appointments, benefits, healthcare resources, and care coordination while providing individualized neurorehabilitation designed to support function and quality of life.
